The
original photograph had been folded in half, destroying the middle of the
portrait. The photograph was also covered with scratches and with age pieces had flaked
off. This type of correction is
performed by hand, using the computer like a paint brush. As such, it is a
painstakingly slow process, but the results justify the effort.
